Ashley and Chris

I was honored to photograph Ashley and Chris for their engagement not long ago. We had just the most beautiful night-no wind and pretty blue skies!

Before our session, Ashley emailed me that she wanted to take engagement pictures with a horse and a sunset! I love it when couples have a vision of something they would like to try and do to personalize their portraits! Ashley's brother Tyler has a horse and we were able to get some really beautiful images of the couple with the horse! I used off camera flash thanks to Ashley's Mom Rachel who held the light for me. I was a bit worried that the flash would spook the horse, but it was no problem, thankfully!

I think the next one might be my favorite of the night!

After the horse shots we got some fun images with the couple by this fence!

In the Bride-to-be's back yard. The wedding will also be held here!

A nice traditional portrait of the couple.

We went to the down town park where there is a new little bridge that was a fun spot for a picture.

The tulips were beautiful!

Ashley and Chris, I am so excited for your wedding in a few months! Thanks for all the fun!

I realize I am going way out of order here...

...but while it is still Memorial Day, I want to give a sincere thank you to any and all military personnel that are serving in the armed forces. The many sacrifices that are made by you and your families is commendable.

Tonight I had the opportunities to meet someone in the Air National Guard. Caleb and Anna will be married in December and we had this shoot now because Caleb will deployed soon.

We had an amazing day-no wind and beautiful blue sky!

Although I know Anna, I had not yet met Caleb and it was touching to see the strong bond between them. I think it is evident in the pictures!

After we were done shooting, I asked if Caleb thought he would be in the service for a long time. With visible excitement he said he loves what he does and that he hopes to serve for a long time to come. This is what impresses me about many of the members of the armed services I know (love you Andre and Justin) and have met. Their passion and excitement for serving! Very humbling...

Enjoy these pictures from tonight...and I will be back SOON with a few other WONDERFUL engaged couples, a fun family session, and this weekend's (first one of 2008) wedding!!!!

Finally....

....spring is here! It seems to have been just the longest, coldest, snowiest winter, and I could not be more delighted that the grass is green, and there are BLOSSOMS EVERYWHERE! The pops of color are such a welcome touch of beauty! I had to snap a few pictures and thought I'd share them with you.

Our apple tree

A lilac bush we saw while down town for Tulip Festival (more on that later.)

A closeup of one of those trees that has "purple branches" in the spring. What are these trees called? I would love to plant one!

Elsie oooohing and ahhhing over the apple blossoms

This sweet little bundle of joy...

...totally made my day! I was looking forward to meeting baby Burke since his Mommy called me last week. He is only 13 days old!

It's funny how I can forget my cares when I get to meet and photograph such a darling specimen of God's handiwork! Burke is so precious!

Burke's proud Papa is in the plumbing and heating business. Here is Daddy's little helper sleeping on the job!

I'm so thankful to have met you, baby Burke! May God bless you your whole life through!
